The legal dispute between rapper Cardi B and gossip youtuber Tasha K is still going strong, with fresh accusations emerging about purported attempts to evade paying a defamation verdict. Cardi B’s attempts to get Tasha K husband Cheickna Kebe to give over important information that could affect the lawsuit are revealed by recent court filings that Radar Online received.
After winning a $4 million judgment against Tasha K for defamation, Cardi B has been searching for hidden assets and trusts that Tasha K purportedly established to avoid having to pay the judgment. But according to the most recent finding, Tasha K’s husband might be the one hiding the money.
Court records state that Cardi B tried to make Cheickna Kebe turn over emails that might have important case information. Kebe’s attorney objected, but Cardi B’s legal team persisted, and eventually they removed Kebe’s accountant, Alicia Thomas. Cardi B’s team learned during the deposition of an unidentified email address that Kebe was regularly using for business, but that had not been made public before despite requests.
The lawyers representing Cardi B said they had learned of IBSM Technolgie LLC, a previously unnamed firm owned by Kebe that was established around a month after Tasha K filed for bankruptcy. With this disclosure, there are questions about asset hiding and attempts to thwart Cardi B’s collection efforts.
The legal team for Cardi B contended that Tasha K and Kebe both acknowledged under testimony that they had moved money and assets to try to evade the defamation ruling. They charged the pair of trying in bad faith to hide Tasha K’s true income by passing it through Kebe’s companies.
According to Cardi’s recent move, she gave Tasha’s husband notice in July 2023 requesting that he turn over paperwork. According to her, he refused almost every request. His attorney said Tasha had already turned in the paperwork.
Cardi claimed to have just ousted Alicia Thomas, an accountant for Tasha’s husband. Cardi claimed to have found evidence that Mr. Kebe was using an email address actively for business purposes. She claimed that although he was required to divulge ALL of his email addresses, this one had not been previously made public.
She added that it is especially concerning because the email account appears to be connected to one of the trusts the pair established that was not first made public.
