The Healing Power Of A Holiday By The Sea

Love holidays

When you go on a beach holiday, it’s really a lot more than just a trip, it’s a delightful escape from being a landlubber that has deep benefits for your mind, your body, and your soul! Depending on what kind of beach you are visiting, there can be a soothing susurration as gentle waves lap against the sands, or a pulsing pounding as waves crash against the shore, both of which can bring liquid healing to a body deprived of primal joy from being kept away from the sea’s music for too long.

There are of course a lot of different kinds of beaches that one can make a seaside sojourn to, the wild waves of the far north or the warm currents of the tropics, it really just depends on one’s mood. Many people prefer the latter because they live their lives in cold countries and long to put their toes in a warm gentle sea like that which you find in places like the Pullman Maldives Maamutaa resort, a real tropical island oasis beneath the swaying palm trees, and the perfect spot to jump in the water and quietly float until all your cares wash away and its time to go get a cocktail at the cabana.

Wherever you decide to make your marine journey, being at a beach brings relaxation. The following are some compelling reasons why your next holiday should be by the sea!

Calms The Mind – The ocean is a soothing tonic that calms the mind. The musical rhythm of the waves, the epic vastness of the horizon stretching along the curve of the earth, all foster a feeling of infinity that allays our tensions and brings a great sense of peace to the mind and the body. This fascinating phenomenon even has a name, it has come to be known as “blue space”, in reference to the calming and healing effects that bodies of water can produce in people. Time spent by or on the sea has been scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety while it improves our mood, and draws out our sense of creativity. The sea’s natural beauty and power disconnect us from the exhaustion and anxiousness that our daily lives tend to invoke in us, providing an incredibly therapeutic escape.

Sunshine And Fresh Air – We tend to spend too much time indoors in our busy lives, working and even paying away from the sun and the fresh natural air, enough so that it might even make us ill, depriving us of the sun’s natural vitamin D, and breathing processed air full of allergens and pollutants! A visit to the beach gives us an excellent opportunity to soak up the sun’s healing rays which are essential for our bone health and the proper function of our immune systems. Not too much sun, though, and be sure to apply sunscreen to protect your skin from those harmful UV rays. The salty sea breeze is an invigorating tonic that can improve respiratory health.

There are few better ways to unwind from life’s many stresses than to take a holiday by the sea, and enjoy the healing powers of the water.
